On 19th June, we went to the O2 to visit the British Music Experience. I went there to gather information of the history of British popular music from the 20s to present. I really enjoyed staying in the Gibson's Iterative Studio to experiment with different musical instrument, such as drums, guitar and base.

There were also exhibitions of popular music bands over the year, for example The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones. We looked at some of their old albums, musical instruments, costumes and magazines.

I then attended a workshop summarising how the fashion style and social events affected the style of music in each decade. For example, it changed from Rock n' Roll in the 50s and the 60s to Rock in the 70s to R&B, Grunge, Hip Hop and Pop in the 90s.
I really enjoyed my day, as I have gained a basic knowledge of British Music in order to prepare myself for the A2 media project.
