RESEARCH- Theodor Adorno

Theodor Adorno (1903-1969) was a German sociologist, philosopher and musicologist know for his critical theory of society.

Quoted from Music 4real written by Paula Shutkever
Theodor Adorno, who claimed that popular music produced industrially could never effectively challenge dominant meanings and values (ideology). He may never have lived to watch Pop Stars or Fame Academy but he hated the 'standardisation' of popular music which was 'through the mill' of an industry production process.
Even Robbie Williams, who himself came to fame with the help of a manufactured boy band (Take That), complains that pop music is too manufactured nowadays
